On September 2nd, we invite you to an Artist Talk after the performance, where the artists Claire Vivianne Sobottke and Alma Toaspern will be in conversation with artistic director Tina Tarpgaard.

The talk offers the audience an opportunity to get closer to the artists' practice and hear more about their work on these pieces: What thoughts, investigations, and artistic choices lie behind them? And how have the works taken shape?

Alma Toaspern

Choreographer Alma Toaspern has studied modern and classical dance and is a graduate of P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels, under the direction of Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker. She was house choreographer at Kaserne Basel for the 2025/2026 season and at Danish Dance Theatre in 2024. Internationally, she collaborates as a dancer, musician, and co-creator with artists including Tim Etchells, Bobbi Jene, Tilman O'Donnell, Trajal Harrell, Ben Frost, Ioannis Mandafounis, Alexandra Bachzetsis, the Royal Danish Orchestra, and the Sinfonieorchester Basel.

Since 2020, she has co-led the interdisciplinary company toaspern|moeller alongside composer and singer Mathias Monrad Møller, creating works at the intersection of dance and music, including their duet LIEBE (2024). Their works are co-produced and tour primarily in Switzerland, Germany, Norway, and Denmark. From 2018 to 2022, she was a member of the experimental dance company Corpus at the Royal Danish Ballet in Copenhagen.

Claire Vivianne Sobottke

Claire Vivianne Sobottke (DE/FR) works across choreography, performance, and dance. Her practice explores the body as a turbulent accumulation of concepts, histories, traumas, memories, projections, identities, and magic, while also examining the voice as a political tool and poetic phenomenon. Notable works include à mort (2023), Velvet (2019), WE BODIES (2019), and strange songs (2016). Claire develops strategies to subvert objectification through playful sexuality, sensuality, and collectivity.
